One a day - update "6"

Hi everyone.

Well this week I hopped back on the wagon and started with the hexipuffs again. I have managed 3, and they are all plain white.

I found it so relaxing to pick up the needles again this week. I have been super busy with work and a few other things going on that by the time night fell all I wanted to do was curl up with a nice cup of tea and watch mindless TV.

But.....now I am back. Here is a pic from this week:

Oh where has the last week gone!!!!

Well, I haven't been gone far, but the days just seem to blend into each other at the moment.
I have been busy.....mainly sewing, for which I must blog about.

Last year I started a "mystery quilt", which is emailed out in monthly parts, for six months. Anyway, it ends in February, and I had only finished 1/2 of the first month. So lately I have been working hard on catching up. Nearly there.

What else has been happening at Reznplace? Not much knitting action has been going on. No more hexipuffs to add to the basket at the moment. Hopefully in the next few weeks :)

Will be back in the next few days with some photo updates so you can all see what I have been up to.

Off now to catch up on some blog reading, that has fallen by the wayside too.
Looking forward to see what everyone else has been up to.

One a day - Week five

Sadly, this past week I have no new hexipuffs to add to my basket. I have been extremly busy trying to catch up on other tasks, and with all this hot weather we are having at the moment, it is just too hot sometimes to get the wool out.

So, this week I will leave you with the latest photo of my basket. Just about time to upgrade the basket to a bigger size!!!

Hexipuffs - Week 5

Pop over to Carole's blog to check out all the other "one dayers". I am off there now to see what everyone has been up to this week.

Simplicity 3584

For pyjamas this has to be one of my all time favourite patterns. It has served me well since my son was 1 year old....sadly I have just made up size 4, and that is where the pattern ends.

So, for one day last week, I feverishly sewed up four new pairs of pyjamas for this year. I can't be bothered with making the "proper" pyjama shirts to go with these, as he tends to grow faster in the top than the bottom, so just used a plain t-shirt with a nice applique on it. He was super happy with is new jamas. (Unfortunately, being a boy, he is not too fond of modelling for me).

So without further ado, here are the four new pairs of pyjamas. All the fabric was used from my stash (A 2012 goal).

Busy few days sewing....

I have had the luxury of being able to sew for the last few days. I say luxury, as I have my husband and son home for christmas holidays still, so to be able to spend some quality time in my craft room, just me and my sewing machine, is a luxury hard to come by at the moment.

At the end of 2011 I was super busy with my work so had hardly any personal sewing time. I work doing transcription work from home, and I also do sewing alterations for my local community. Just when I thought I was getting ontop of things a new typing assignment came in, or someone dropped off a pile of clothes to be mended.

So this week, I have spent three whole days catching up on last years work. I will blog about them all separately over the next few days, but for now, just to let you all know, I have made four pairs of pyjamas for my little boy, completed 5 outstanding blocks for my Sew Mama Sew Modern Quilt Block of the Month, and nearly completed Month one of another (mystery) Quilt-a-long I am doing through Gourmet Quilter.

I am feeling so rejuvinated now that I have caught up on everything. Also, I have finally finished the whole rearrangement/organisation/tidy up of my craft room. Ready for 2012.

And since it is Sunday, a note to let you know that "Storage Sunday" will resume next week (now that I have some new ideas and have cleaned up).

What has everyone else been up to this week?

One a day - Week four

Well, here we are into week four of my "one a day". I thought this being christmas week I might have been able to get a few more done, but alas....I have been busy doing other things, giving my craft room a huge clean out, hanging out with my family, and we were away for 4 days for chirstmas visiting family.

So, without further ado, here is my effort for week four.

Hexipuffs - week four
Moda Vera Marvel - 8 ply
col 0015 - lot 770746
christmas colours

I chose this ball especially for christmas. I just love the way the dye formed in these little beauties.

I have been so busy over the last week, giving my craft room a huge overhaul. It really needed it, and I thought it would be nice to start the new year fresh and clean. Hopefully in the next day or two I will have it finished, and I will be taking some pics, as I probably wont see it like this again for a long time. Will write up a post on it sometime in the future.

How is your "one a day" going this week?

Welcome 2012.....

Happy New Year everyone.

Well 2011 came to a very quiet close, I am not one to stay up and see the new year just for the sake of it.....too old for that stuff. So was a very quiet one in our household, but a good one all the same.

As with everyone else out there, I guess I have a few goals for 2012 (I wouldn't call them resolutions). You know when you feel the time is right for something. You might have been trying all your life to achieve something but unless the time is right, it doesn't happen. Well, that is the feeling I get for 2012. The time is right to achieve something this year.

So, here are a few of my goals for this year:

  • Bust my stash. I have a lot of fabric, and other crafting items. It is time to actually use what I have instead of buying something new. I admit, there are going to be times when projects call for "new" but for the main part, I am going to "Bust my stash".
  • Finish a lot of UFO's. I have a few UFO's that I would like to get finished this year. There is one special cross-stitch to be finished, and a few knitting projects to tidy up. There is also a few sewing projects that have been moved to the side towards the end of 2011, they are at the top of the list for 2012.
  • Actually get my ideas down on paper and act upon them. I have many ideas, just need to actually take the bull by the horns and get stuck into them. Keep watching this space.
  • Be organised. This is a biggy for me. I am a fairly organised person, but would like to be more organised to stop wasting time. Don't get me wrong, some days it is good to just waste time and relax, but other days I need to be getting things done, and without an organised list, I tend to just dilly dally around.
  • And I am sure there are a lot more......wondering around inside my head at the moment waiting for their time to surface.
So, join me in 2012 with some great projects coming this way.

What are your goals/resolutions for this year?
